We’re very proud that Belfast, the home of our Mac in a Sac HQ, is to be the official host to the Giro d’Italia’s Big Start this weekend the 9th-11th May 2014. Local companies are celebrating all over Northern Ireland and we thought it was the perfect event to get involved with.
About the Giro d’Italia
The Giro d’Italia is one of the cycling world’s most elite and iconic events. It commands a huge worldwide audience of 775 million people, so naturally we are very excited to be involved with all of the buzz in Belfast surrounding the event. The start of the Giro d’Italia is rarely taken outside Italy but this year, Northern Ireland will host the Grande Partenza or ‘Big Start’ - a four day celebration (kicking off on Thursday night) of elite professional cycling with three competition stages visiting Belfast on Friday, the Causeway Coast on Saturday, and Armagh heading down towards Dublin on Sunday.
"On 8 May 2014 over 200 elite cyclists and entourage will descend on Northern Ireland in search of glory. Belfast will host a welcome celebration to remember!"
