Mac in a Sac Classic vs. Mac in a Sac 2... What's the difference?

Our Mac in a Sac Jacket is one of the most popular products in our range. The Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Jacket (pictured below) replaced the Classic Mac in a Sac in 2012 and we are often asked about the differences between the two designs and what makes the new version an 'upgrade'. Below we have included two diagrams of the front and back features of the new jacket and what makes it even better than it's predecessor.

Front features of the Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Jacket

The overall fit of the Mac in a Sac 2 is more tailored than the previous design, while still allowing room for another layer underneath. The zip has been reversed, making it more windproof and streamlined. A three piece hood provides the ultimate protection from the wind and rain and easily packs away into the collar when the shower is over. The cuffs have been changed to elastic rather than tabs to provide the perfect fit instantly. There is also reflective branding on the side to make sure you are seen if you are out walking at night.

Back features of the Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Jacket

The new Mac in a Sac has the same high level of performance as the old one. It has a waterproof rating of 5000mm and a breathability of 5000gsm. There is a reflective safety strip along the back vent to ensure you will be seen from all angles on dark evenings. This is a notable upgrade as the old Mac in a Sac had no reflective branding or piping at all. We have also included a drawcord at the curved hem. The curved hem will give longer length coverage at the back while the drawcord will allow you to reduce any cold drafts and make the jacket even more windproof.
