4 ways your Mac in a Sac comes in handy

Wondering whether a Mac in a Sac jacket is right for you? Our high performance, compact jackets really “pac” a punch when it comes to weather protection and there’s lots of every day scenarios where our jackets can come in handy for you.

    1. Fits perfectly in schoolbags

If you’re getting your little one all set for a school trip you’ll most likely be concerned about whether or not the weather will stay dry.

Our Mac in a Sac Mini range pack away neatly into a compact stuff bag so there’s no need to try and cram a heavy coat into their schoolbag. They’ll have easily accessible super waterproof compact cover up for if and when surprise showers strike.

You can keep your mind at ease and your little one won’t get soaked.

    2. No bag? No problem!

Maybe you’re heading to an outdoor concert or just out on a leisurely walk and don’t want to be weighed down by a handbag or backpack.

Our handy stuff bags come with elastic adjustable cords which are super easily tied around your belt or belt loop on your jeans so you can keep your hands free and minimise the need to a handbag or backpack.

    3. Doesn’t weight you down

Our jackets are super lightweight making them perfect for a multitude of activities such as running, hiking and cycling.

However, packed away in its stuff sack your Mac in a Sac won’t add a lot of weight.

So whether you have on multiple layers out and about on a wintery day or a light shirt on a warm day, your versatile Mac in a Sac will provide you with the waterproof protection you need when from impending downpours.

    4. Carrying wet coats & umbrellas becomes a thing of the past

Whenever the weather’s temperamental, sunny one minute raining the next, adjusting our attire to these changes can be a bit of a nightmare resulting in inevitable wardrobe malfunctions and the wish to shun ourselves inside for good.

Easily transported, easily worn and easily packed away, a Mac in a Sac jacket eliminates the unpleasantness of having to carry around a thoroughly rain soaked coat or dripping umbrella when the clouds part and the sun makes another appearance.

  • Product Spotlight: Unisex Travel Coat

If the Easter holidays have taught us anything, it’s that our lovely British weather can be extremely unpredictable at times. One minute you’re reaching for your sunglasses and the next minute it’s started raining! One way you can stay prepared at all times is to carry around our Mac in a Sac Unisex Travel Coat in your bag. Here’s why it’s perfect for the springtime showers...

New for our 2014 Spring/Summer Collection, our Unisex Travel Mac in a Sac is full length, meaning your legs will stay as dry as the rest of you when the rain comes on. This coat also packs away into its own pocket eliminating the possibility of losing the bag (you’d be surprised how many phone calls we get from poor souls looking for replacement bags after a windy day on the mountain). When packed away into the pocket, this super lightweight coat is small enough to fit comfortably into any rucksack or handbag.

Featuring fully taped seams, the Unisex Travel Coat is completely waterproof, windproof and breathable, so you will be kept comfortable while protected from the rain. This coat incorporates a two-way zip designed for added comfort whilst seated and a concealed hood that packs into the collar. Other little details like a removable waist belt and a snap buttoned shoulder covering keep this coat stylish as well as functional.

If you need a little more info, you can view the full list of features for this coat by clicking here.

Perfect for hill walking or covering up while out and about in the town or country, the Mac in a Sac Unisex Travel Coat has got you covered.

  • Mac in a Sac at the Malaysian Rainforest Challenge

A few months ago we were asked to partner up with one of our retailers in Bulgaria, Extreme Sport, to support the Bulgarian team in The International Off-road Challenge of Malaysia - Rainforest Challenge 2013. This is one of the toughest and physically demanding races in the world. The challenge takes place in December which is Malaysia’s rainy season, so the conditions are particularly harsh, raining constantly and making the ground very muddy. Of course, we jumped at the chance to put our products to the ultimate test.

To give an idea of just how demanding the Challenge is, have a look at the 2013 Trailer of the event below:

We sent them off to compete in our Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Jacket and our Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Overtrousers.

Beginning on the 30th November and finishing on the 9th December, the team spent a prolonged period of time in extremely wet conditions. The rain, mud and humidity allowed the team to test the true quality of the equipment we had provided as sponsorship.

During the Challenge, the team tested the products with activities such as hiking through knee-deep mud and crossing fast flowing rivers. We were delighted to hear that our Mac in a Sac Jackets and Overtrousers did not disappoint with their performance. The Bulgarian participants were reportedly “the only riders who remained dry, despite the continuous rain” and upon completion of the challenge, the team praised the quality and durability of the products they had been wearing. They also commented on the breathability of the coats, saying that they managed to maintain the optimum temperature, despite the warm weather.

A few encouraging words from the team after their rainforest challenge experience: “For maximum protection choose waterproof, breathable and windproof clothing brand Mac in a Sac which stood the test of the Rainforest Challenge 2013.”

…but don’t just take their word for it! We invite you to test it out and see for yourself.

Have a look at the photos below to see what the team got up to during their time in the rainforest…

     * A huge thanks to the Bulgarian team for taking so many awesome photos for us! We hope you enjoyed the Challenge. We were absolutely thrilled to be supporting you through the trials of the rainforest.
