When the rain comes on, our new Khaki Poncho is quick and easy to throw on over the top of your clothes and is big enough to keep your backpack and anything else you are carrying underneath dry too. • Mac in a Sac at the Malaysian Rainforest Challenge

A few months ago we were asked to partner up with one of our retailers in Bulgaria, Extreme Sport, to support the Bulgarian team in The International Off-road Challenge of Malaysia - Rainforest Challenge 2013. This is one of the toughest and physically demanding races in the world. The challenge takes place in December which is Malaysia’s rainy season, so the conditions are particularly harsh, raining constantly and making the ground very muddy. Of course, we jumped at the chance to put our products to the ultimate test.

To give an idea of just how demanding the Challenge is, have a look at the 2013 Trailer of the event below:

We sent them off to compete in our Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Jacket and our Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Overtrousers.

Beginning on the 30th November and finishing on the 9th December, the team spent a prolonged period of time in extremely wet conditions. The rain, mud and humidity allowed the team to test the true quality of the equipment we had provided as sponsorship.

During the Challenge, the team tested the products with activities such as hiking through knee-deep mud and crossing fast flowing rivers. We were delighted to hear that our Mac in a Sac Jackets and Overtrousers did not disappoint with their performance. The Bulgarian participants were reportedly “the only riders who remained dry, despite the continuous rain” and upon completion of the challenge, the team praised the quality and durability of the products they had been wearing. They also commented on the breathability of the coats, saying that they managed to maintain the optimum temperature, despite the warm weather.

A few encouraging words from the team after their rainforest challenge experience: “For maximum protection choose waterproof, breathable and windproof clothing brand Mac in a Sac which stood the test of the Rainforest Challenge 2013.”

…but don’t just take their word for it! We invite you to test it out and see for yourself.

Have a look at the photos below to see what the team got up to during their time in the rainforest…

     * A huge thanks to the Bulgarian team for taking so many awesome photos for us! We hope you enjoyed the Challenge. We were absolutely thrilled to be supporting you through the trials of the rainforest.

  • Did you spot it? The Fuchsia Polka Dot Poncho on Emmerdale!

We were pleasantly surprised to see our Mac in a Sac Waterproof Poncho in Fuchsia Polka Dot keeping the cast of Emmerdale dry last night! The girls were keeping their spirits high in the bright poncho despite the teaming rain outside, as they headed off on a hen party.

All of our ponchos are waterproof, breathable and windproof so are sure to keep the elements at bay on a rainy autumn day. The ponchos also feature fully taped seams, an integral adjustable hood and cycle wrist straps to keep it all in place while you're on your bike! It has reflective piping too to make sure you are seen by traffic while out in the dark evenings. The best part is that it packs down into it's own front pocket so you can easily carry it with you anywhere, or even use it as a pillow while camping. We also have a 2 year manufacturing guarantee so if anything should happen to your poncho during that time, we will happy send you a replacement!*

The poncho comes in six different prints/colours, so you are sure to find something to suit you. Whether you are going hiking, camping, to a festival or just out in the town when the rain is coming down, our Mac in a Sac Waterproof Poncho is perfect for you.
